LETTER:
Hello,
Below is the story of a street dog in Turkey who has now been named Jonah.
Jonah was hit by a car and after lying in the street for 3 days the council
sent out workers to collect and dispose of him. Amazingly Jonah has
survived, He was rushed to a vetinary clinic by concerned animal lovers. His
fate is now very uncertain as the facility is not equiped to deal with his
extensive injuries.

Jonah's plight is fast receiving international concern through internet
social sites facebook and myspace.
It was hoped that Jonah would have been well enough to travel from Van to
Ankara for specialised care on November 16th, but the following email was
received:
" They are not treating him there as such. They are trying to simply
stabilize him so that he can be sent to Ankara. His condition is very poor,
can't urinate or defecate - he lost control of both of those functions. His
back legs are not responding to any stimuli, due to possibly permanent
neurological damange. Also, he is constanlty being given IV. They say they
can't put him on a plane unless and until he shows some signs of
stabilization. "
As Jonah has such a strong will to live I believe he deserves all the help
possible.
Please can you help him? I look forward to your reply.
Sincerely,
Nom, Pays

Lettre modèle (vous pouvez changer des mots)
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am certain I speak for many others across the globe when I say that
everyday I am sickened more and more by the acts of cruelty and injustices
committed gainst those most vulnerable in your country. I was shocked and
appalled to hear about an incident involving an innocent dog, which occurred
recently in Van. It seems as if the authorities do not have empathy. In
order for you to better relate, please put yourself in the victim’s
position. Imagine that you get hit by a car and your legs are broken. You
lie at the side of the road in excruciating pain for three days! You can’t
walk, you can only crawl and you cannot ask for help. When it finally seems
that help is coming, it’s really death in disguise. Your fragile body is
thrown into a garbage truck and the compacter crushes you alive! Would you
want this to happen to you? If not, then why allow it to happen to others?
Do not do unto others what you would not want to be done to you! Many others
like myself already view Turkey in a very poor light. The image of your
country has long ago been tarnished. Please bear in mind the words of
Mahatma Gandhi, “The moral progress of a nation and its greatness should be
judged by the way it treats its animals.” You are supposed to protect those
who are most vulnerable, not exploit their vulnerability and their inability
to speak out for themselves! Please stop these heartless murders now!!!
Yours sincerely,
<Votre nom>
